Glenn Dynner, Ph.D., is Professor and Chair of the Religion Department at Sarah Lawrence College and a 2019-20 Guggenheim fellow. He is author of “Men of Silk”: The Hasidic Conquest of Polish Jewish Society (Oxford University Press, 2006), and Yankel’s Tavern: Jews, Liquor & Life in the Kingdom of Poland (Oxford University Press, 2014). He is Co-editor of the journal Shofar: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Jewish Studies, a former Fulbright Scholar, NEH Senior Scholar, Member of the Princeton Institute for Advanced Studies, and Yale Senior Research Scholar. He is currently writing a monograph entitled A Higher Education: Hasidism in Modern Poland through the Holocaust.
